Textile (Peru)

This is a Textile. It is dated ca. 1300 and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is wool, cotton and its technique is slit tapestry with wrapping; weft-faced plain weave; slit tapestry: limited use of non-horizontal welts, sometimes between color areas only; two-faced; long slits are sewn together; sides: remains of attached fabric; ends: warp selvage on one end, turned . It is a part of the Textiles department.
