Beaker Beaker

This is a beaker. It was made by Geert Jacobs van Ootmarssen. It is dated 1678–1679 and we acquired it in 1966. Its medium is silver, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Estate of Harry G. Friedman. It is credited Gift of the Estate of Harry G. Friedman.

Its dimensions are

H x diam.: 14 × 9 cm (5 1/2 × 3 9/16 in.)

It has the following markings

On underside of beaker: [1] “GO” in script, impressed (maker’s mark) [2] “4” over “A” in shield, impressed (town mark, Groningen, date letter 1678–79)
