Poster, Stop on India Nonskid Tyres and Feel the Difference
This is a Poster. It was designed by Edward McKnight Kauffer. It is dated 1935 and we acquired it in 1963. Its medium is lithograph on paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
Edward McKnight Kauffer was an American designer who moved to London just before World War I and stayed until the advent of World War II. Inspired by cubist painting and collage, Kauffer often combined illustration with halftone reproductions of photographic elements—traditional lithography was his preferred means of reproduction. Cooper Hewitt’s extensive collection of Kauffer’s drawings and designs illuminates his process.
