Waistcoat (probably Italy)
This is a Waistcoat. It is dated 1750–70 and we acquired it in 1962. Its medium is silk, metal-wrapped threads with silk core, metallic sequins and its technique is four metallic gold yarns couched on silk plain weave moiré; sequins sewn on; couching has been done over paper padding. It is a part of the Textiles department.
