Bowl Bowl

This is a bowl. It was manufactured by Gorham Manufacturing Company. It is dated late 19th century and we acquired it in 1959. Its medium is silver (bowl), silver pated, metal (liner). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Although made in Burma or India, this bowl was likely retailed by Gorham, who provided a liner to expand its functional possibilities for dining or display in a Western context. De Forest provided similar silver to Tiffany & Company, which they sold.

This object was donated by Mrs. Leo Wallerstein. It is credited Gift of Mrs. Leo Wallerstein.
