Print, Unknown Woman, Louvre. (Another View), Illustration for The Century Magazine (XXIX, No. 1, November 1884, p. 66)

This is a Print. It was after Kenyon Cox and published by The Century Magazine. It is dated 1884 and we acquired it in 1959. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

This object was donated by Allyn Cox. It is credited Gift of Allyn Cox.

It is inscribed

Inscribed in graphite, lower right margin: cut the neck much lighter, as I have tried to indicate, opening up between the lines and being careful of the gradations at the edges. Be most particular about the corrections I have made in the mouth and eyes as the whole character depends upon them. Cut away the signature entirely, make the side of the jaw more even in gradation and not so spotty.
