Salesman's Sample Book (France)
This is a Salesman's sample book. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1951. Its medium is leather, paper, wool, cotton and its technique is plain and twill weave, some printed. It is a part of the Textiles department.
This sample book from Roubaix, one of France’s most important centers for woolen cloth production, serves to illustrate the influence that English sporting fashions and casual dress had in France.
It is credited Museum purchase through gift of Mr. and Mrs. Talbot Jones Taylor.
