Band

This is a Band. It is dated 1600–1650 and we acquired it in 1951. Its medium is linen and its technique is narrow loom-woven tape bent and forlded to define pattern; tape edged with buttonhole stitch over a cord for raised outline; buttonhole stitch over a cord for connecting bars; needle-made fillings. It is a part of the Textiles department.
