Chalice Veil (France)

This is a Chalice veil. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1950. Its medium is metallic embroidery on silk foundation and its technique is embroidered on plain weave, bobbin lace trimming. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Richard Cranch Greenleaf (American, 1887–1961). It is credited Gift of Richard C. Greenleaf Esq. in memory of his mother, Adeline Emma Greenleaf.
