Beaker Beaker

This is a beaker. It is dated 1650–75 and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is silver, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.

On the underside of beaker: [1] “PHL” in a trefoil, impressed (maker’s mark) [2] Shield with two crosses below a crown, impressed (town mark, Danzig [modern Gdańsk]) On the exterior lip of beaker: [1] “ET” in a rectangle, impressed (import mark, French, 1864–1893) On the foot of beaker: [1] “ET” in a rectangle, impressed (import mark, French, 1864–1893)
