Woman's Robe (China)

This is a Woman's robe. It is dated ca. 1860 and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is silk and its technique is supplementary warp pile (velvet) in satin ground. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt, from the textile collection of Mrs. Abram Stevens Hewitt.
