This is a Mezzaro (shawl or headcovering). It was produced by Luigi Testori. It is dated late 1840s and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is cotton and its technique is block printed on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt, from the textile collection of Mrs. Abram Stevens Hewitt.
