Chasuble Fragments (possibly Spain)

This is a Chasuble fragments. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is silk and its technique is satin weave with discontinuous supplementary weft patterning (brocade). It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Sarah Cooper Hewitt and Eleanor Garnier Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt, from the textile collection of Mrs. Abram Stevens Hewitt.
