Lettered in plate, lower center: L’HOSPITAL DE LA SALPESTRIERE hors la Porte St. Bernart est une des principals dependances de l’Hospital general de Paris; son nom vient de ce que l’on/ y faisoit autre fois le salpestre. Ce Bastiment fut commencé à reedifier magnifiquement en Avril 1656 et par ordonnance du Roy du 10 8bre 1668. Les pau=/vres y furent enfermez, & y sont nourries & entrenus au nombre d’environ 4000.
