This is a spoon. It is dated mid-19th century and we acquired it in 1909. Its medium is silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mrs. John Hobart Warren. It is credited Gift of Mrs. John Hobart Warren.

Its dimensions are

L x W x D: 17 × 3 × 1.9 cm (6 11/16 × 1 3/16 × 3/4 in.)

It has the following markings

In bowl: Minerva head indicating a fineness of .950 introduced on May 10, 1838. On reverse of bowl: Bigornes countermark introduced after 1838, also an obscured maker's mark.
