Child's Tunic (Egypt)
This is a Child's tunic. It is dated 9th century and we acquired it in 1902. Its medium is linen, wool (warp – s-spun linen warp; weft – z-spun linen, z-spun undyed wool, z-spun red wool, z-spun green wool, s-spun red wool in the three spots of clavus bands) and its technique is plain weave with tapestry woven areas; one weft carried at a time. It is a part of the Textiles department.
