Desktop 3D printers allow anyone, anywhere to become a designer and manufacturer of objects. Since their invention, 3D printers have created everything from pacifiers to titanium surgical implants. The Replicator 2, the fourth generation from MakerBot, comes fully pre-assembled and offers new capabilities for making professional-quality models.
