Cartier’s cigarette holder is a stylish piece from 1932 that is exciting, provocative, and fun. The Cotton Club featured musicians that were playing music that could be described in a similar manner. Conductor and bandleader Jimmie Lunceford led a group at The Cotton Club in 1934, and “Jazznocracy” features his band along with his longtime soloists Willie Smith and Ed Wilcox.
