Query Search for objects matching terms across all the text fields.

Accession Number Search for objects with a particular accession number.

Display Status Search for objects that are or are not currently on display.

Has Images Search for objects that have images (or not).

Has No Known Copyright Search for permanent collection objects which either have no known copyright (true) or are copyrighted / have an indeterminable copyright status (false)

The Basics

Color Search for objects containing a particular color. Colors must be defined as valid hexidecimal color strings or as CSS color names

Exhibition Search for objects that were part of an exhibition, matching terms in the exhibition title.

Location Search for objects matching terms in the name of the country the object is from.

Medium Search for objects matching terms for the medium associated with an object.

Period Search for objects matching terms for the period associated with an object.

Person Search for objects matching terms in one or more of the people associated with an object.

Role Search for objects matching terms in one or more the roles associated with an object.

Tag Search for objects matching a specific tag. Multiple tags can be queried by passing a comma-separated list of tag strings.

Type Search for objects matching terms in the type associated with an object.

Texts

Description Search for objects matching terms in an object's description field.

Justification Search for objects matching terms in an object's justification statement (why we acquired an object).

Title Search for objects matching terms in an object's title field.

Dates

Query for a specific year of an event. Optionally, you can query for a range of years by passing two years separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a year with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-or-equal).

Display Date Search for objects that match a given display date. Because we collect this data as a string, we are not currently able to perform advanced date queries on this field.

Year Acquired Search for objects that were acquired in a given year. You can query for a range of years by passing two years separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a year with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-of-equal)

Year Ended Search for objects that "ended" in a given year. You can query for a range of years by passing two years separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a year with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-of-equal)

Dimensions

Query for a specific dimension of an object (in centimeters). Optionally, you can query for a range of dimensions by passing two numbers separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a year with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-or-equal).

Width Search for objects having a given width (in centimeters). You can query for a range of widths by passing in two numbers separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a number with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-of-equal)

Height Search for objects having a given height (in centimeters). You can query for a range of heights by passing in two numbers separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a number with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-of-equal)

Depth Search for objects having a given depth (in centimeters). You can query for a range of depths by passing in two numbers separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a number with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-of-equal)

Longest Side Length Search for objects having a given length for its longest side (in centimeters). You can query for a range of lengths by passing in two numbers separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a number with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-of-equal)

Shortest Side Length Search for objects having a given length for its shortest side. You can query for a range of lengths by passing in two numbers separated by a hyphen, or by prefixing a number with one of the following: gt (greater-than), gte (greater-than-or-equal), lt (less-than), lte (less-than-of-equal)
