Founded in 1731 in Solingen, Germany. Henckel’s primarily produced razor blades. By the late 1920s, they operated a store in New York at 730 Fifth Avenue (at 57th street) and had broadened their offerings to include tableware, pocket knices, scissor and sewing sets, toilet sets, smoker’s articles and giftware. Advertisements of the 1920s list locations also in Berlin, London, and Paris.
