Frederick Jacob Osius

Frederick Jacob Osius, a native of Racine, Wisconsin, was an engineer and inventor. As a young boy Osius worked in the general store that his father operated while undertaking his first experiments in industrial design, including a profitable portable vacuum. In 1910, along with L.H. Hamilton and Chester Beach, he co-founded the Hamilton Beach Manufacturing Company. Hamilton Beach was best known for its production of motor-driven and labor-saving appliances for the home, including food mixers, juicers, hair dryers, and fans.
