Radhika Nagpal is a computer scientist specializing in the fields of self-organizing computer systems and biologically inspired robotics. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1994, and her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2001, all at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She was on the technical staff at Bell Laboratories from 1994-95, and from 2001-2012 was a research fellow, lecturer, and on the faculty of Institutions ranging from MIT to Harvard Medical School. In 2008, she was among the founding faculty of the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, Harvard University. Her research group focuses on biologically inspired multi-agent systems, collective algorithms, and swarm robotics, including the Kilobot project. The recipient of numerous grants, awards, and honors, Nagpal is an Amazon Scholar (2020-present).
