Alissa Eckert
Alissa Eckert is a medical illustrator who primarily works in government. She aims to be a “visual storyteller,” so that the public can better understand complex medical information. With a B.F.A. in Scientific Illustration and a M.S. in Medical Illustration, she has been employed as a medical illustrator at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since 2006. Previously to contributing to the Coronavirus illustration, she and Dan Higgins have worked together for 14 years on other virus projects, such as Ebola and Zika.
