Langbein Giftwares was based at 161 Willoughby Street in Brooklyn, New York. Langbein retailed, and possibly manufactured, modern design for the home including wickerware, glass and ceramic tableware and accent pieces, and cutlery. Designs bearing their name regularly featured in exhibitions at The Museum of Modern Art including Useful Objects (1946-47) and Good Design (1950-51 and 1951-52). Ed Langbein, likely the company’s founder, contributed original designs to an exhibition of modern tableware at the Brooklyn Museum in 1955.
