Publisher and seller of prints. Jacques-Simon II Chéreau was the son of the Parisian engraver, publisher, and printseller Jacques-Simon I Chéreau (1732-1806). In 1787, Chéreau married Geneviève Basset, the daughter of the published and print seller André Basset. She succeeded him in the business as "veuve Chéreau" or "veuve Chéeau-Matrat."
