Alison Sky received a B.A. degree in Fine Arts from Adelphi University in 1967, with further studies at Columbia University and the Art Students League. Her multidisciplinary work in sculpture and poetry has been exhibited and published internationally, and can be found in both private and museum collections; most notably having had three pieces commissioned by the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. for their permanent collection.
Alison co-founded two organizations: Sculpture in the Environment, an interdisciplinary research group that developed new concepts for the integration of art, architecture and public space, education programs, books and exhibitions; and SITE, a public and environmental arts and architectural design firm focusing on the design and development of environments, buildings, interiors, public space, as well as writing, editing and designing books and publications.
