Blu Dot founders Maurice Blanks and John Christakos met in college and built a friendship around their shared passion for design. Trained architects, Blanks and Christakos collaborated with their friend and sculptor Charlie Lazor to start Blu Dot in 1997. Working from their Minneapolis studio, the company has set itself apart with designs that marry modern design with style, accessibility, practicality, affordability, and quality. As Rob Forbes, founder of Design Within Reach, has written, “These guys helped to define what modern design was to popular culture.” [1] Every product is a collaborative team effort of the studio rather than being credited to an individual designer.

We have 5 objects that Blu Dot Design and Manufacturing has been involved with.
