Gertrude Gheen
Gertrude Gheen Robinson was an interior decorator. In 1914, she founded The Decorators Club, a group of people interested in the art of design and decoration. They would gather at the home of Gertrude to discuss and establish the profession of interior decoration. She, along with several fellow decorators, wrote “A Color Scheme for Every Room,” which taught readers how to decorate different rooms of the home based on color schemes, sponsored by Duco paints. Gheen was interviewed by Ladies’ Home Journal (April 1928). She married Phillips Brooks Robinson, son of Edward Robinson, Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
