Albrecht Altdorfer
Altdorfer worked in etching as well as woodcut, giving new attention to the relationship between man and nature in his prints. He is credited with the first etchings of pure landscape and identified as an early leader of the Danube School of landscape artists, which later included Hirschvogel and Lautensack.
