Roger Chapin
Little is known about Roger Chapin. According to Art for Every Home: An Illustrated Index of Associated American Artists Prints, Ceramics, and Textile Designs (Mariana Kistler Beach Museum of Art, 2016), his textile designs were produced as part of the Signature Fabric series by M. Lowenstein & Sons. These designs were featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Women’s Wear Daily, and Vogue Pattern Book in 1954 and 1955. There are currently two examples of Chapin’s work in the museum’s collection: Textile, Glacial Imprint, 1953 (1994-38-15) and Textile, Feathery Stripe, 1954 (1994-38-4).
