Robert Allen Fabrics is a textile and furniture design company founded in 1938 in Boston by Benjamin and Esther Weissman. The company was named after the couple’s two sons, Robert and Allen. The design philosophy of Robert Allen Fabrics centers on color. The company pioneered the broad distribution of fabric books organized by color, known as the Robert Allen Color Library. Their designs are influenced by world fashion, architecture, and pop culture and are intended primarily for residential and hospitality design. Robert Allen Fabrics is still in business and maintains a global network of distribution.
