Lydia Bush-Brown

Lydia Bush Brown was born in Florence, Italy to American parents, who were both professional artists. She grew up on the Hudson, near Newburg, NY, and studied art at the Pratt Institute. She traveled widely, and spent a year in Syria. She is best known for her "silk murals," or silk batik wall hangings. Her works were exhibited all over the United States, including the Pan-American Exhibition, the Ehrich Gallery, the Architectural League, the National Arts Club, and other venues.
