Maker and dealer of papier-mâché furniture and decorative arts. 1816 took over Henry Clay's factory. 1825 received patent for "ornamenting papier-mâché with pearl shell." Were royal japanners to George IV, William IV, Queen Victoria. (Those who made papier-mâché were also japanners of earthenware.)
