Born in Auxerre, France in 1743; died in Stockholm, Sweden 1804. Active in Sweden. Trained as an architect under Jacques-Francois Blondel at the Academie Royal d'Architecture. Studied painting in Rome after winning the Grand-Prix de Rome in 1776.
