Master goldsmith from Berlin, active in Rome in the mid-nineteenth century, where he worked for Fortunato Pio in the Castellani workshops from about 1842 to 1859. According to an 1875 printing of "THE NEW CVRIOSVM VRBIS: A GUIDE TO ANCIENT AND MODERN ROME" by Shakespere Wood, there is a Carlo Ansorge listed as a watchmaker working in the Piazza di Spagna (p. 27).
