Giovanni Giardini
Born in Forli, Italy on June 24, 1646, died in Rome on December 31, 1721. He apprenticed to the silversmith Marco Gamberucci (recently appointed 'Argentiere di Nostro Signore', who supplied plate for the Vatican and Cardinal Francesco Barberini) from 1665-1668. In 1675 he became a master and set up a company with Gamberucci and Marco Ciucci to run the former workshop. In 1860 Giardini and his brother Alessandro took over the enterprise.
