Don Butler
Don Butler began his professional design career at Hudson Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan, where he helped design the 1948 Step Down Hudson, an aerodynamic automobile whose low roofline and sunken floorplan required the driver and passenger to step down into the car, thus creating its name. Butler later worked for Willys-Overland Motors, where he contributed to the designs of the Jeepster, Jeep station wagon, and a Willys passenger car concept. After working for Hudson, Willys, and Nash Motors Company, Butler spent the next 18 years designing for Chrysler, focusing on interiors as well as body ornamentation styling.
