This is a Brooch.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Anonymous as part of The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s.
French jewelers were among the first to capitalize on the enormous public interest in the discovery in 1923 of treasures from King Tutankhamun’s tomb in Egypt. Parisian jewelers created their own treasures in the Egyptian taste for wealthy American clients traveling abroad, such as this brooch by Chaumet.
