This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Smithsonian Libraries and Archives as part of The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s.
The book cover features a graphic design style representative of Constructivism. Using images of city skyscrapers and a movie director’s megaphone, the book design expresses modernism, American movies, and the times, when movies captured the imagination as much as did fashion and the arts.
It is credited Smithsonian Libraries, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Library, PN1993.5 .U6R34 1929. Purchase, 2015.
