Wall Maquette, PolyBrick series
This is a Wall Maquette. It was designed by Jenny E. Sabin, Jingyang Liu Leo, Martin Miller, David Rosenwasser and Nicholas Cassab-Gheta and produced by Sabin Design Lab, Cornell University.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Jenny E. Sabin as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.
Sabin employs materials science, mathematics, and digital technology to generate new building forms. PolyBricks are prototypes for mortarless, 3D-printed bricks inspired by bone composites and dovetail joints. This model is for a building component that could be manufactured in ceramic with minimal waste.
