Skirt And Top, from Fall / Winter 2014–15 Haute Couture collection
This is a Skirt and top. It was designed by Giambattista Valli.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Giambattista Valli as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.
Valli embodies contemporary couture. His collections blend fantasy with simple, clean lines in garments that are at once wearable and romantic. Each piece is meticulously crafted, with decadent fabrics and impeccable tailoring. Voluminous, indulgent, and chromatically rich, his gowns, such as this feathery tulle ball-gown skirt with piped pajama top, are both extravagant and modern.
It is credited Courtesy of Giambattista Valli.
