Bracelet

This is a Bracelet. It was designed by Lea Stein. It is dated ca. 1970 and we acquired it in 2015. Its medium is laminated, baked, and cut cellulose acetate. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Jewelry designer Lea Stein often worked with rhodoid, a plastic material developed by her husband, chemist Fernand Steinberger. Made by stacking and fusing together thin sheets of cellulose acetate, their varied colors are revealed when the material is cut.

This object was donated by Terry Blum. It is credited Gift of Myra Cooper.
