Prototypes, IOMAI Needle-Free Vaccine Delivery

This is a Prototypes. It was designed by IDEO.

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from IDEO as part of Beautiful Users.

It is dated 2006. Its medium is bistable spring steel, medical grade sandpaper, woven adhesive tape, laminate graphics, plastic sheet, 3d-printed abs plastic fasteners, various everyday objects and materials for inspiration and study.

Iomai completed its IPO in 2006 and was funded under a contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Iomai was acquired by Intercell in August, 2008.
