What you say is not always what you have experienced Necklace

This is a necklace. It was designed by Hanna Hedman. It is dated 2009 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is silver, powder-coated copper, paint. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Hedman’s necklace was inspired by her “interest in storytelling and how stories change, depending on the narrator.” She developed the piece in a lengthy process by creating individual sections, then combining them, just as stories are shaped over time.

This object was donated by Susan Lewin. It is credited The Susan Grant Lewin Collection, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
