NY NY...right before my eyes Ring
This is a ring. It was designed by Rian de Jong. It is dated 2009. Its medium is electroformed copper on stones and earth. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
This ring demonstrates how deeply de Jong’s travels affect her designs. Comparing her stay in frenetic New York to her tranquil experience in Greenland, she used found materials from both locations to create this ring that combines those two worlds.
It is credited Promised gift to the Susan Grant Lewin Collection, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
