Sketch For "Corsets With Cross Muscles" (USA)
This is a Sketch for "Corsets with Cross Muscles". It was made by Earl Silas Tupper. It is dated August 14, 1935. Its medium is ink on paper.
The earliest designs of Tupperware inventor Earl S. Tupper reflect the flexibility of his ingenuity. Tupper’s ideas, including for this corset with cross muscles, are clearly laid out in an invention notebook, capturing not only the methodology and function, but also what the idea was meant to accomplish. "This corset offers the further advantage of presenting the flat appearance so much desired in the abdomen of and the advantage of moulding the body to that shape – the vertical stayed, nor no other corset on the market offers such advantage."
It is credited Earl S. Tupper Papers, Archives Center, National Museum of American History, 1992.3213.
