Mapping the Measure of America
This is a Project. It was designed by Measure of America, an initiative of the Social Science Research Council. It is dated 2007–present.
Social scientists and designers at the Social Science Research Council modified the United Nations’ Human Development Index, which measures the basic components of well-being—health, education, and income—for an American context, designing the Mapping the Measure of America online portal. With it, users map a range of topics from food insecurity to foreclosure rates, from superfund sites to commute times. It is designed to stimulate fact-based dialogues about our shared challenges on health, education, income, environment, housing and transportation, political participation, and security.
