Brochure With Price List, American Modern
This is a Brochure with price list.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Smithsonian Libraries and Archives as part of Energizing the Everyday: Gifts From the George R. Kravis II Collection.
Industrial designer, Russel Wright developed a line of popular “American Modern” dinnerware that was manufactured by Steubenville Pottery Company between 1939 and 1959. This color brochure, with its accompanying price and order form, provides information on plates, bowls, casseroles, pitchers, and other mass produced, affordable, and colorful items designed by Wright for modern yet fashionable everyday dining. During the twenty years in which American Modern tableware was produced, American consumers purchased more than 250 million pieces.
