M-1, Type B2 Clock
This is a clock. It was designed by Paul T. Frankl. It is dated ca. 1928 and we acquired it in 2015. Its medium is chromium-plated and enameled metal, molded bakelite, brushed-burnished silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
The slightly stepped form of this table clock is reminiscent of the skyscraper-inspired furniture also by Frankl, popular at the same time. When most clocks cost $5, this one cost $50, making it a luxury item.
