Beverage Set, Lemonade Set

This is a beverage set. It was manufactured by Royal Worcester. It is dated 1879 and we acquired it in 1989. Its medium is porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the department.

Japanese art became a fertile source of desings for Europeans and American in the second half of the 19th century. The individual motifs painted on this set are drawn from Japanese ornament, and include fans, flowers, and stylized mon (family crests). (Recent Acquisitions, 4/91)

It is credited Museum purchase from Decorative Arts Association Acquisition Fund.
